Travel Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival in Lima, meet and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2

After a buffet breakfast, depart for a half day City and Casa Aliaga tour. You will see why Lima is considered the “City of Kings”. This magnificent tour starts in the modern districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, where the impressive Huaca Huallamarca is located, which served as a ceremonial center for the original inhabitants centuries ago. Continue to the Larco Museum, where you will see the largest private collection of treasures of ancient Peru. Next, you will discover the incomparable Historic Center, starting with the Main Square, which is surrounded by the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the City Hall and the imposing Cathedral. A few blocks down, you will visit the San Francisco Convent, one of the most beautiful buildings of Lima, where the catacombs, the city’s oldest cemetery, is located. You will finish this wonderful tour enjoying the beauty of the Casa Aliaga, the residence of the Spanish conquistador Geronimo de Aliaga. You will see its impressive balcony, which is carved in wood and crystal, its majestic staircase, impressive works of art, and a central patio. All these elements together are an incomparable sample of the royal era of the city.

Day 3

After a buffet breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. You will then take a tour of one of the most popular archaeological sites in the city of Cusco, starting with the Sacsayhuaman archaeological complex, a masterpiece of Incan architecture in which you will see mindbogglingly huge stone blocks, almost 9 meters in height, placed perfectly. Next is the Kenko temple, dedicated to animal worship. Then, Puca Pucara, another Incan archaeological site located on top of a hill and used as a fort and administrative center. Last, there is Tambomachay, a place also known as the Inca Baths. Once you’ve finished there, it’s off to the Urubamba Valley, otherwise known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas, for a visit to one of its most attractive towns, Pisac. There, you will visit the ancient city, located on the top of a hillside, an Inca archaeological site that reveals the skill of our ancestors. Then, you will descend to the town, known for its traditional market, where you will be able to do some shopping. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, and then you will return to your hotel in the afternoon.

Day 4

After breakfast, visit the Inkariy museum, where a combination of very realistic figures, videos and music carry you through centuries of history to see the Caral, Paracas, Chavín and Inca cultures, among others. Thanks to this ambitious and innovative project you can see how ancient Peruvians lived and how all of these civilizations contributed to the cultural evolution of the country. Next, you’ll take a visit to Moray, an interesting archaeological site in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. See the enormous concentric terraces that were used by the Incas as a botanical laboratory. Then a visit to the Maras salt pans, which produce the world's finest salt: Sal de Maras. The area appears to be a mosaic of terraces and pans and this unique view is great for those who like to take astonishing photographs. Finally, on the return journey, you will stop at the Urubamba vantage point for a panoramic view of the zone.

Day 5

After breakfast, depart for Machu Picchu by Vistadome Train. The excursion starts with a train trip to the town of Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. The natural beauty of the surroundings makes the train the best way to start your visit. When you arrive, you will start the ascent to the ruins, which will, without a doubt, be one of your most unforgettable experiences. At Machu Picchu you can see one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World and take some impressive photos. Then head back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch in a local restaurant. Finally, you board the train for the return journey and transfer to your hotel.

Day 6

You will depart early for a full day trek of Rainbow Mountain. The first stop is at Pitumarca, where you take an unpaved road to the village of Quesiuno. From there, you will be taken to Inkintuyoc Bridge for a restorative breakfast. You then start the walk along the banks of a beautiful creek; on your ascent, you will enjoy the scenery as you see herds of llama and alpaca. The region's highest mountain, Apu Ausangate, is visible throughout the journey, captivating you with its magic and energy. A boxed lunch is provided. Back on the trail, you will see the crops, especially the many varieties of potatoes, grown in the zone. You may also see wild animals such as chinchillas, vicuñas and perhaps the Andean cat. Some hours of walking bring you to the principal attraction of this experience: Vinicunca, known as Rainbow Mountain. On arrival, there will be a small Andean ceremony offering coca leaves to the Apu as a gesture of thanks for allowing us to arrive safely. After that you can explore the zone, take photos and rest before the descent.

Day 7

After a buffet breakfast, transfer to the bus station to board the bus to Puno. More than just a bus journey, this trip allows you to view the magnificent scenery of the valley south of Cusco and makes several stops along the way. The first stop is Andahuaylillas, which has a beautiful 17th Century church containing an impressive organ decorated with angels and cherubs. After that, we visit the ruins at Racchi, also known as the "Temple of Wiracocha”, the different zones of which were used for different purposes. After this visit, you will enjoy a typical and delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant. Then you will visit the archaeological site of Puca-Pucara, basically a military camp that also functioned as an administrative center. When you arrive at the bus station in Puno, you will transfer to the hotel.

Day 8

After breakfast, you will depart for a full day tour of Taquile Island and the Uros Islands. Taquile Island is about 35 kilometers away and 3950 meters above sea level. The culture on the island is old, dating back to Pre-Incan times. The islanders still live according to the traditions and beliefs of their ancestors and are world renowned for their lovely outfits and incredible textiles. In fact, UNESCO has declared the textile art of Taquile Island as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Next, while still on the island, you will visit the community of Huayllano, whose members will show you their normal artistic, handicraft, and farming activities. After this time of sharing, you will enjoy a boxed lunch and then sail over to the famous Uros Islands, a set of man-made floating islands in the middle of the Lake Titicaca National Reserve. Here, you will meet the islanders, hunters and gatherers and descendants of the first altiplano inhabitants, who still live on totora reed platforms. At the end of the trip you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 9

After a buffet breakfast, you will depart early for Bolivia. You will transfer to Copacabana Sanctuary and board the Catamaran Cruise Ship to sail to Sun Island, the legendary birthplace of the Inca Empire. Visit the Inca Garden, steps, and fountain, followed by the Inti Wata Cultural Complex including the Ekako Underground Museum, the traditional medicine and the Titikaka Reed Shipbuilders display centers, the Pachamama agricultural Inca terraces, a handicraft center, the Intica lounge and, at the Manco Kapac, see the largest variety of Andean camelids. Also, the Inti Wata Complex at Sun Island includes a unique sailing experience aboard a huge Titikaka traditional vessel for a panoramic visit to the Pilkokaina Inca Palace. Enjoy a buffet lunch on board the catamaran, and transfer by land to La Paz.

Day 10

After breakfast, you will visit Tiahuanaco, a citadel located 72 kilometers from La Paz. On the way, you will cross the Bolivian highlands, where you will have the chance to observe the Aymara way of life. Tiahuanaco is one of the most ancient citadels in American culture, and it is considered one of the most intricate constructions of its time. Explore its main constructions, like the Kalasasaya temple, the Ponce and Fraile monoliths, and the Akapana pyramid, among others. You will visit the old colonial village of Tiahuanaco, where you will see how stones from the ruins were used for its construction. Then, you will visit the Puma Punku temple, a place with large and top-quality pieces of stone carvings. You will visit its two site museums to appreciate its ceramic and stone work up-close.

Day 11

After a buffet breakfast, embark on a 4-hour tour around the city of La Paz, selected as one of the 7 Wonder Cities of the World. Located at the foot of the Andes Mountain Range, it rises 3632 m.a.s.l. You will visit the market area, where you will find crafts, textiles and witchcraft artefacts. Discover the colonial part of the city, the San Francisco Church, the Gold Museum, the Murillo Square and the Killi Killi Viewpoint, from where you will have an enviable view of the city and of the Tiahuanaco fortress replica. Then, you will head to the modern part of the city to visit the Valley of the Moon, an impressive place due to its formations, a consequence of erosion. Finally, you will ride the cable-car and discover the incomparable and beautiful view of La Paz.

After breakfast, transfer from hotel to airport.
