Day 2

After a buffet breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

In the afternoon, visit the city of Cusco, also called the Imperial City, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The excursion starts at Koricancha temple, an ancient Inca palace and center of worship of the sun god, on the site of which the Dominicans ordered a church to be built, which survives to this day. Then to the Main Square, where you will visit the cathedral, the most important religious building in the city. The climb continues to Sacsayhuamán fortress, an impressive example of Inca military architecture. Then to Kenko, where the sun, moon and stars were worshipped. Next, a visit to Puca-Pucara, which may have been a rest and lodging place for the Inca. Finally, you will visit the Inka’s Expression Art workshop, where you will appreciate how different Peruvian natural products are used (such as plants, fruits, vegetables among others) and you will discover their nutritional, curative and cosmetic properties.

In the evening, you will enjoy a truly unique experience in the Cusco Planetarium, located only 15 minutes away from the center of the city. Here, you will learn about the important relationship between the Andean man and the cosmos. Thanks to special equipment, a starry night will be projected as well as drawings of constellations, which will allow you to experience the wonders of the universe up close. Finally, you will head to the outside of the Planetarium where, if weather allows it, you will witness the most ancient show in the world, observing stars and constellations through telescopes and other instruments of astronomic observation.
