Travel Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival in Salvador, meet your guide and transfer to the hotel in Salvador. Private service with English speaking guide.

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up for a half day Historical City Visit.

On this tour, you will get acquainted with some of Bahia’s history and culture. First, we will visit one of the city’s main tourist points, the Barra Lighthouse. Next, we will go through Corredor da Vitória, Campo Grande and Piedade to arrive at Salvador’s Upper City (Cidade Alta). The highlight of this tour is a visit to Pelourinho, which is considered to be the most important architectural complex. Pelourinho dates from the 17th and 18th centuries, and we will see its historical Monuments, great churches, the Cathedral Basilica, the church of St. Peter of the Clericans, and St. Francisco, the famous gold church, with its baroque woodcarvings all gilt in gold leaf.

We will walk until we reach the Lacerda lift, the elevator that links the upper town (considered the old part of the city) with the lower town (considered the modern part of the city), to enjoy the Bay view. It is a place that attracts people from all over the world because of its beauty and cultural diversity.

After the tour, we will return to the hotel.

Optional tour in Salvador at an additional cost: Bahia by Night - Show at O Coliseo restaurante at Pelourinho zone with buffet style dinner (beverages not included), private service with English speaking guide.

This is a show in a typical and charming atmosphere. You will taste a wide variety of Bahian food, while watching a fascinating folklore show featuring some of the major Afro-Bahian cultural traditions such as samba-deroda, maculelê, hauling of the fishnet, Candomblé and Capoeira.
