Travel Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival, reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Our representative will give you a documentation kit with a detailed program explanation. Luggage and hotel registration assistance is offered. In the afternoon, we will take a trip to the essential Lima, "The City of Kings" including the most important architectural icons of the city, such as the Main Square, where you can find the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace. Then, we continue with a visit to the San Francisco Convent, an architectonic jewel dating back to the 16th century. On our way to the modern area of the city, we will cross the exclusive district of San Isidro, the new financial heart of the city, to take a look at pre-inca Huaca Huallamarca. Finally, we conclude our circuit in Miraflores, where we will visit the "Parque del Amor" (Love Park) an excellent spot to enjoy a great view of the Pacific Ocean. Overnight in Lima.

Day 2

During the morning, you will be taken 30 Km. south of Lima, along the Pan-American highway, to the Pilgrimage Center of Pachacamac, in the coastal valley of Lurin. This is a citadel made of adobe from pre-Inca times where pilgrims went to consult the Pachacamac Oracle and later, during the Inca's domination time, it was a place to worship the Sun God. When the Spaniards arrived, it turned into the most important ceremonial center on the Peruvian coastline. In the afternoon, we will visit two of the main museums in Lima. We will start by visiting the Anthropology and Archaeology Museum, which offers one of the best art and archaeology exhibits in ancient Peru, presented in chronological order from the very early cultures to the Inca Room. Later, we will continue with the Larco Museum, which has a private collection of more than 45,000 pieces of craftsmanship. A highlight is the erotic Huacos room where you can find a sample of little statues made of mud that show the sexual beliefs of ancient Peruvians. Overnight in Lima.

Day 3

At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take your flight to Chiclayo. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representatives and transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a visit to the Royal Tombs of Sipán Museum, where you can see pieces of the treasure that belonged to the Lord of Sipán. Overnight in Chiclayo.

Day 4

In the morning, transfer to the bus station for the VIP service to Chiclayo. After a 4 hour trip along the Peruvian coast, arrive in Trujillo and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, we will go to Chan Chan, the biggest and best preserved adobe city in the world. The old capital of the Chimú Kingdom, established in the Valley of Moche between the 12th and the 15th century, was the home of 60,000 people, expanding its area up to 20 square kilometers, from the port of Huanchaco all the way to Cerro Campana. Chan Chan is also called the City of the Moon or the City of the Long Walls. Overnight in Trujillo.

Day 5

In the morning, we will visit Trujillo city and view the beautiful houses from the Colonial and Republican times and visit the National University Museum, where you can see many interesting utensils from cultures of Northern Peru. Later, we will visit the famous Huacas (Temples) of the Sun and the Moon, where we will stop for a visit to appreciate the grandeur of this ceremonial place. Decorated with carvings and multicolor friezes, the restoration work archaeologists are doing is supported by private companies. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take your flight to Lima. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representatives and transferred to the hotel. Overnight in Lima.

Day 6

At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representatives and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the morning is free to rest and get acclimatized to the altitude. In the afternoon, we will visit the Imperial City, a living example of the mixture of the Andean and Spanish cultures. We start our trip by visiting the Santo Domingo Convent, built over the Koricancha, an ancient Inca palace and main worship center of the Sun God. Later, we will stop at the Main Square, where you can find the Cathedral and the beautiful Church of La Compañía. Going on with the tour, we will visit the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, an imposing sample of military Inca architecture which domainates the city. Finally, we will take a look at the archaeological sites of Qenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, located north east of the city. Overnight in Cusco

Day 7

We will drive towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, taking the direct route to Pisac. We will stop on the way to have a classic view of the Urubamba valley, with crops dressing the mountains like carpets. We will arrive to the colorful market of Pisac, where we will have free time to interact with the local craftsmen, or to purchase their hand-made souvenirs. We will continue to the town of Urubamba for a buffet lunch. Finally, we will visit Ollantaytambo, an attractive town of Inca origin with remarkable channels and stone streets. In its high part one rises to an impressive ceremonial center and a fortress that guarded the access to the interior part of the valley. Overnight in the Sacred Valley.

Day 8

You will visit one of the most amazing creations of the Inca Empire: Machu Picchu. The excursion will be by train and during the trip we will have an amazing view of the landscapes of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba. Upon arrival to Aguas Calientes, our representatives will be waiting to assist you with the bus to the citadel. It will be an unforgettable experience, where a professional tour guide will give us the history surrounding this mysterious and charming place. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the zone on your own, relax and meditate. At the scheduled time, we will go down to the Aguas Calientes town. Lunch included. Overnight in Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu.

Day 9

Morning at leisure. Optionally, you can make a second visit to Machu Picchu and have the chance to see hidden places, such as the Intipunku (Gate of the Sun). Those with a sense of adventure can enjoy a hike to the top of Huayna Picchu (Young Mountain) to visit the Temple of the Moon and enjoy a spectacular view of the city. In the afternoon, you will board the train that will take you back to Cusco. On arrival, our representatives will be waiting at Poroy Station, from where we will transfer you to the hotel. Relax and enjoy Cusco's nightlife. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 10

At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima. Upon arrival, you will be assisted with your connection for your international departure flight.
