You will continue towards Ollantaytambo, one of the most representative archeological sites of the ancient Inca Empire and one of the few sites where the Spanish lost an important battle. Widely known for its terraces (dug into the mountainsides for agricultural purposes), Ollantaytambo was a fortress that also served as a temple.
